Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using The Lifeline app ("the App"), operated by The Foundation Code ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and The Foundation Code, a company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

2. What The Lifeline is — and is not

The Lifeline provides parenting guidance grounded in The Foundation Code methodology. It is an educational and support tool for parents and caregivers.

The App is not a medical, psychiatric, or therapeutic service. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or substitute for professional clinical care. Content generated by the App represents educational guidance, not medical advice.

If you or your child is in immediate danger, contact emergency services (UAE: 999) or go to the nearest hospital now. Do not use this App as a crisis service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App you confirm that you are a parent, guardian, or caregiver acting on behalf of a child in your care. The App is not intended for use by children.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that takes place under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties without their consent.
• Notify us immediately at support@thefoundationcode.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or reproduce the Foundation Code methodology or AI system prompts.
• Deliberately attempt to manipulate the AI into providing harmful, false, or off-methodology content.
• Use the App to collect or harvest data about other users.
• Resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as a commercial offering.

6. Subscription and billing

The App offers a free tier and paid add-ons. Paid features are described clearly before purchase. Prices are displayed inclusive of applicable VAT. All purchases are final unless required otherwise by applicable law.

Billing and payment processing is handled by Stripe. By making a purchase you also agree to Stripe's terms.

7. Intellectual property

The Foundation Code methodology, the App, and all content produced by the App are owned by or licensed to The Foundation Code. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights. You may use AI-generated content from the App for your personal parenting purposes but may not republish, sell, or use it to train other AI systems.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty, express or implied, that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated guidance will be accurate or suitable for your specific situation. Educational guidance from an AI is inherently limited — always apply your own judgement and consult a qualified professional for clinical decisions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Foundation Code and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App — including but not limited to decisions made on the basis of AI-generated guidance.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the App. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the breach.

On termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Data deletion follows the process described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
