The Foundation Code
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 16 September 2026
1. Who we are
The Lifeline is operated by The Foundation Code ("we", "our", "us"), based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We provide a parenting support app grounded in The Foundation Code methodology.
For privacy enquiries: privacy@thefoundationcode.com
2. What we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service. Specifically:
- Account information — your email address and optional display name, used to create and manage your account.
- Child profile — your child's first name, date of birth, and optional developmental notes you choose to share. This information is used to personalise AI responses to your situation.
- Conversations — messages you send and the AI replies you receive, stored so the app can provide continuity across sessions.
- Usage identifiers — an anonymised user ID assigned at sign-up to link your data together securely.
We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or any browsing history. Voice recordings made through the microphone are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
3. How we use your information
- To create and authenticate your account.
- To generate AI responses tailored to your child's profile and your conversation history.
- To maintain conversation continuity across devices and sessions.
- To send transactional emails (e.g. email confirmation, password reset).
- To improve the reliability and safety of the service (aggregate, non-identifiable analysis only).
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Third-party services
To deliver the service we work with the following processors, each bound by data processing agreements:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored in EU-West (Ireland) data centres. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — generates AI responses. Your messages and child profile context are sent to Anthropic's API to produce replies. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models by default. See anthropic.com/privacy.
- Apple / Google — if you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers authenticate you and share a minimal token with us. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
5. Children's data
The Lifeline is intended for use by parents and caregivers aged 18 and over. We collect information about children (name, date of birth, developmental notes) as entered by the parent, but we do not knowingly collect data directly from children, and children should not use this app themselves.
Child profile data is used solely to personalise guidance within the app and is never shared with third parties for any purpose other than generating the AI response.
6. Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and all associated child profiles and conversations are permanently deleted within 30 days.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@thefoundationcode.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over TLS. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only and is audited. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we maintain industry-standard practices appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
For any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@thefoundationcode.com.
